On Octorber, 25, 2018, the faculty members and students in Journalism and Information Technology major, as a part of Communication Arts Program, together, ran an event, “Pencil-Teacher Day Ceremony,” at the meeting room #5724 or Suwapakniwet meeting room in Faculty of Management Science. Ekapon Thienthaworn, the head of Journalism and Information Technology program, with other lecturers, graduate students, and especially Banyong Suwanpong, specialist and expert in journalism, all provided the speech for the current students in the aforementioned ceremony.
The sequences of this ceremony were as follows: (1) “promise ceremony” for the students to promise and show their respect toward King Rama IV, the father of Thai communication arts, (2) “teacher appreciation” for the current students to honor their teachers, (3) to allow the freshmen to be the students, (4) “medals reception” that the freshmen receive the phoenix medals from their teachers, (5) “speech providing” by faculty members and the expert mentioned above, and finally (6) to strengthen the relationship between all current students, by welcoming the freshmen to be a part of their larger family in SSRU.
