On November 15, 2024, Assistant
Professor Dr. Somsak Klaysung, Dean of
the Faculty of Management Science, along
with faculty members and staff from the
faculty, joined in continuing the
tradition of Loi Krathong for the year
2024, chaired by Associate Professor Dr.
Chutikarn Sriviboon, President of Suan
Sunandha Rajabhat University. The event
was attended by university executives,
vice presidents, deans, lecturers,
staff, and students at Suan Sunandha
Rajabhat University.
The Loi Krathong tradition falls
on the 15th day of the waxing moon of
the 12th lunar month to express
gratitude to the river for allowing us
to drink and eat, as well as to
apologize to the Goddess of the River
for making the water unclean. This is
done to ward off bad luck, based on the
belief in floating away suffering,
sorrow, illness, and bad things with the
river. Importantly, it is also a way to
preserve ancient Thai traditions and
promote tourism.
