
On February 27, 2025, the International Business Program, Faculty of Management Science, organized a seminar on the topic of “Ban Ton Pho Herbs: Developing Local Wisdom to Create Value and Develop Community Enterprises”, which is part of the teaching of the International Business Seminar course, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pichaman Chansuchai, the project advisor. The objectives are to promote and develop local wisdom, support the development of Thai herbal products such as facial mask powder, scrub, through formula improvement, packaging and market expansion, increase product value, create understanding about creating identity, set appropriate prices and effectively reach target markets, strengthen community enterprise potential, transfer knowledge in business administration along with production skills to expand the market and create a solid customer base, and support cooperation between students and communities, bring new ideas in design, packaging and marketing from students to help develop products to be modern and meet market demands, which was honored by the speakers of the Ban Ton Pho community, including Miss Phimsiri Kanwicha, a community scholar, herbal processing, and Ms. Pathummarat Thammo, President of the Ban Ton Pho Herbal Community Enterprise Group, as speakers to provide knowledge. About the history of the Ban Ton Pho herbal community enterprise, Bang Kha Yaeng District, Pathum Thani Province, products of the Ban Ton Pho herbal community, demonstration of the steps of making facial mask powder and body scrub, and presentation of increasing the value of community enterprise products by student representatives, and participating in a game activity by answering questions using the Kahoot system. The Ban Ton Pho community also provided scholarships to participants. The event was held at the Mini Theater, Building 57, 6th floor, Faculty of Management Science.
Student representatives who participated in the project revealed that “From participating in this seminar, they learned about herbal development approaches and the extension of local wisdom products to meet the current market demands, increase business opportunities and expand the customer base, as well as understanding the techniques for developing quality products that maintain the community’s identity. In addition, it was an opportunity to build networks, exchange knowledge with experts, and receive inspiration to develop products for sustainable growth. Participants can apply and develop the knowledge they have gained in the future.”
