Every year on
February 14th, we celebrate
"Rajabhat Day." This is
because on February 14, 1992, His
Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej
graciously bestowed the name
"Rajabhat Institute" upon
teacher colleges nationwide. He also
graciously granted permission to use his
personal royal seal as the official
emblem of Rajabhat Universities. This
immeasurable royal grace is a source of
immense pride for all Rajabhat
University communities across the
country. As institutions of higher
education dedicated to local
development, Rajabhat Universities
should cherish this royal grace and
demonstrate unwavering loyalty by
resolving to conduct themselves and
perform their duties in accordance with
His Majesty's principles in national
development and the welfare of the Thai
people. Therefore, February 14th is
considered Rajabhat Day, a day for all
Rajabhat University communities to
commemorate this significant
achievement. This also marks the
establishment of Rajabhat
Universities.
The word
"Rajabhat" carries a profound
meaning: "People of the
King...Servants of the Land."
Interpreted emotionally, it becomes even
more deeply meaningful and broadly means
"Serving as close royal attendants
to His Majesty, dedicating one's
utmost ability, life, and heart."
Being people of His Majesty also means
being servants of the land, because His
Majesty, the beloved monarch of the
Rajabhat community, has been an
exemplary figure in his unwavering
dedication to the nation and its people,
never ceasing his work even in illness,
for the happiness of his Siamese people.
For these reasons, His Majesty has
graciously bestowed the Royal Seal, a
symbol of his royal dignity and honor,
as the official emblem of Rajabhat
Universities, serving as a reminder that
we, the Rajabhat community, are
"People of the King and Servants of
the Land."
