Why do Suan Sunandha students call themselves "Children of the Queen"?
Have you ever wondered...
Why do we call ourselves "Children of the Queen" (Luk Phra Nang)?
Even though we never met Her Majesty,
Never heard her voice,
And were born in an era more than a century removed from her time...
Isn't it remarkable?
Just hearing the name "Suan Sunandha"
Instantly evokes a deep sense of connection.
For the Suan Sunandha community,
"Queen Sunandha" is not merely a figure from history;
She is an integral part of our roots and our identity.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
 From a Royal Name... to the Name We Use Every Day
Her Majesty Queen Sunandha Kumariratana, the Royal Consort,
Was the Royal Consort of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V).
The name "Sunandha" became part of the name of the place and institution we know today as
"Suan Sunandha."
From the grounds of the past...
To an educational institution teeming with tens of thousands of students.
From the stories of previous generations...
To the dreams of the new generation.
This is why the word "Sunandha" signifies so much more than just a name.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
 Being "Children of the Queen" doesn't mean living in the past.
Quite the opposite...
Being "Children of the Queen" in our era
Means taking the virtues we cherish and using them to build the future.
It means being responsible students,
Respecting others,
Having the courage to think and to act,
And becoming graduates who contribute to society.
Because one day...
When we take off our student uniforms,
Walk out of the university gates,
And step into the professional world,
One thing that remains with us is... “We were once ‘Suan Sunandha’ students.”
And our names will be forever linked to the name “Suan Sunandha.”
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
 We may belong to different faculties,
study different majors,
harbor different dreams,
come from different provinces,
and have unique life stories.
But when we place the letters
SSRU
after our names,
we become one and the same—
“Suan Sunandha students.”
And therein lies the special nature of being a “Child of Phra Nang”:
It is not because we are all alike,
but because we share the same roots.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
 What about you?
Do you remember the moment you first realized,
“I am a Suan Sunandha student”?
Was it the first day you wore the student uniform?
The first day you walked onto the campus?
The orientation day?
Your first exam?
Or the day you heard someone say…
“Oh, so you study at Suan Sunandha?”
Perhaps…
the identity of being a “Child of Phra Nang”
doesn’t begin the day we fully grasp the history,
but rather the day we start to feel that
 “this place is a part of our lives.”
+++++++++++++++++++++++
 “Sunandha”—from a historical royal name
to a name held dear in the hearts of the new generation.
Know the roots → Understand the identity → Take pride in the institution → Step into the future.
Because we don’t just study at Suan Sunandha;
we are part of Suan Sunandha’s next chapter.
