The Research
and Academic Service Development
Division of the Faculty of Management
Science, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat
University, conducted a field visit to
implement the project "Developing
Occupational Potential to Upgrade
Community Income in Dusit District,
Bangkok, Fiscal Year 2026" through
the activity "Creating
Supplementary Income with Coffee Grounds
Scrub" at the Phraya Prasit
Community Enterprise in Dusit District,
Bangkok. The aim was to transfer
knowledge and develop vocational skills
for community members, focusing on
utilizing recyclable waste materials
such as coffee grounds to create
value-added skincare products, as well
as creating opportunities for community
product development and income
generation.
A key
highlight of the activity is the reuse
and value-added creation of coffee
grounds, a waste material from
consumption. Transforming something that
might otherwise be discarded into a
usable and further developed product,
this approach promotes efficient
resource utilization, reduces waste, and
raises awareness of responsible
production and consumption, while
simultaneously creating economic
opportunities for community members. In
addition to developing production
skills, the activity also included
knowledge transfer on business planning,
product and packaging development, raw
material and packaging cost calculation,
pricing, profit calculation, and
strategies for adding value to products,
enabling community members to understand
basic business management. Furthermore,
the acquired knowledge can be applied to
supplementary occupations and to develop
products that appropriately meet
consumer needs.
This project aligns with the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
particularly Goal 1: No Poverty, through
promoting vocational knowledge and
skills to increase income opportunities
and strengthen economic security for
households and communities; and Goal 12:
Responsible Consumption and Production,
through promoting efficient resource
use, recycling waste materials to create
new value, and developing products with
responsible resource utilization in
mind.
